and surrounding neighborhoods.

Hope Community, Inc. is not-for-profit affordable housing organization working to revitalize East Harlem since 1968.

Hope Community Inc., catchment area is East Harlem North from East 96th Street up to 143rd Street and East from Fifth Avenue to Harlem River.

Hope Community owns and manages seventy-eight (78) affordable housing buildings consisting of more than 1,250 units serving nearly 5,0000 individuals.

Hope Community produces community initiatives empowering its residents and East Harlem to bring about positive change i.e. Financial Literacy, Women’s Entrepreneurship, Home Ownership, and Health and Wellness programs to name a few.

Hope Community, Inc. develops quality affordable commercial spaces through building rehabilitation and new construction projects. These commercial spaces support small business owners and contribute to East Harlem economy.

Hope Community’s Residential Services department provides its residents and East Harlem community referrals to local social services programs and resources.

Hope Community, Inc. owns and rents its Galeria del Barrio located on 104th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues for cultural / artistic programming. Artists are welcomed to exhibit their artistry at a reasonable rental fee.

Hope Community, Inc. owns and maintains beautiful gardens in East Harlem some featuring murals of iconic women trailblazers i.e. Julia del Burgos and Frida Kahlo. Each of the community gardens are accessible to Hope residents and the community at-large. They serve as a beautiful oasis offering tranquility in urban neighborhoods.
