Varun Sanyal is Vice President of Economic Development a the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. He oversees all economic development initiatives including Industrial & Manufacturing efforts (Brooklyn- Made Certification, Export Documentation Assistance, Global Trade Missions), Research & Studies (Annual Brooklyn Economic Assessment & Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies), Neighborhood Development (BID Formation, Merchant Organizing), and Policy (Legislative Affairs, Government Affairs). Previously, Varun was a Project Manager at the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, where he was responsible for the planning, coordination, management and implementation of real estate planning and development across the borough. Varun started his career at the New York City Council as a Legislative and Land Use Analyst for the Assistant Deputy Majority Leader. Varun has a B.A. in Geography and Urban Studies from Temple University and a Masters in Urban Planning from New York University's Wagner School of Public Service.
