Brian Blake is a Vice President in Morgan Stanley's Community Development Finance group, where he helps manage community reinvestment (CRA) activity for the Firm's national banks. He has over ten years of experience in the field of community development, with a particular focus on quality affordable housing and economic development. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Brian managed community development strategy and CRA compliance at two New York banks: Spring Bank, a Bronx-based development bank serving low income neighborhoods; and Bridgehampton National Bank, a commercial bank based on Long Island. From 2014 through 2015 Brian served as the Chief Communications Officer for a mission-oriented FinTech startup designed to connect small businesses with responsible, local capital. Brian currently volunteers on the Credit Committee of Business Outreach Center Capital, a micro lender, as well as the Advisory Board of Rutgers University’s “Big Data” program. Brian was born in Manhattan and lives in Harlem with his family. Brian holds a B.A. from Dickinson College, and an M.B.A from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY.
